The Rockford IceHogs introduced the Rock River Valley to professional hockey in 1999. The IceHogs, as members of the United Hockey League, played its first game on Oct. 15, 1999, against the Knoxville Speed at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Want to fell like a kid again! Go Sledding!! You can do so at Twin Sisters Park, Aldeen Park, and Sand Park. Sledding at Aldeen Park is only allowed on the north side of the dam. Note: The Rockford Park District has the authority to close any sledding hill depending on conditions. Sledding Safety Sled at your own risk! The Rockford Park District reminds people that they are responsible for safety while sledding on Rockford Park District grounds.
