THE STORY OF ROCKIN' 4 ROCKTON
In its 4th year, Rockin’ 4 Rockton is one of the area’s great summer festivals.
R4R is a music and arts festival that benefits the development of local arts and athletics. Hononegah HS Alumn, Travis Cazel, had an idea that local bands should have more opportunities to play and in a partnership with the City of Rockton, his dream was realized, and R4R was born. Here, local artists are able to gain playing experience on a big stage. Something most local bands never get to do. By supplying this venue, these artists realize their community is behind them, and their music is worth being heard. Every penny earned is donated to the the development of the Rockton Athletic Fields. These fields are currently housing baseball games and practices for Stateline Youth Athletics, as well as practices for football programs and cheer-leading squads. Over the past year there has been a lot of movement at the Rockton Athletic Fields, but there is still much to do. The sooner these fields are fully functional, the better the community will be, so we’re doing something about it.
